Our Pastor

Dr. Brian Johnson was born and raised in an American Baptist congregation in Momence IL. He holds an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education as well as graduate degrees in Divinity and Organizational Leadership. Prior to his appointment as the Executive Minister of ABC-MI he was an Associate Pastor in Illinois for 5 years and Senior Pastor of Crossroads Community Church in Stockbridge, MI for over 15 years where he led a significant turnaround. During that time, Rev. Dr. Johnson also served as a Region Board member and a Contract Consultant for ABC-MI, which is where God began to birth in his heart a vision for seeing an entire region of churches realize a transformative experience that causes the Kingdom of God to be manifest. He currently holds board positions at Green Lake Conference Center and Northern Seminary, as well as being a member of the Ascent Steering Council.

He is married to Erika Johnson, a Benefits Administrator for the University of Michigan. If you met her, you’d understand why he’s a very blessed man! Together, they have two beautiful and intelligent daughters, Eliana (a student at Spring Arbor University) and Elisabeth(a jr. high student). Not to be excluded, the family also has a dog named Toby who seems to get all the attention in the family.
